Fort Hill is a nearly pristine hilltop enclosure of the Hopewell culture that also is a National Natural Landmark. It is situated in a 1,300-acre nature preserve managed locally by the Arc of Appalachia Preserve System, and home to one of southern Ohio’s largest old-growth forests. There are 11 miles of hiking trails, a picnic area, and a museum with exhibits on the geology and archaeology of the area.
